Geoconcreto: Geopolymeric Concrete from Industrial Waste Resulted from Coal Burning

Portland cement is the main material used in the construction industry, whose production is associated with high greenhouse gas emissions. This has promoted the interest in developing an alternative cement known as alkali-activated cement (geopolymer), which has become an interesting alternative due to its production stimulating the recycling and valorization of wastes, such as slag and ashes from coal-burning. It provides a viable solution to produce materials that reach the demands and technical requirements (mechanical performance and durability) with reduced cost.
Objective: evaluate the synthesis parameters of geopolymeric systems that come from alkali activation of industrial waste from coal-burning and its effects on the main properties in fresh and hardened conventional concrete.
